Are they even developing the game at the moment? We have been waiting for over 5 years and nothing new :/. I have seen the images, they look really cool, and I can't wait for PK3.

Given up... I guess, Janne focuses more to his band instead of finishing PK3.

Wasn't it band, not brand?

But couldn't he at least publish the work in progress? I mean if he's not gonna finish it anyways...

Maybe there was nothing to publish. Or they intend to finish this, one day. It would be way better if Piste would become indie studio, and PK3 was paid/kickstarted. That way, they could focus on our beloved rooster's adventures.

This thread is dead. A pity. I wished I could've played PK3. I guess now, that is something I can only look forward to in Heaven. Janne has given up hope. The fandom of this forum now only exists to ~15 people. IV4N has left us in the dark.

The reason for Piste Gamez not completing the game is most likely that they have better things to do.

But after starting work on it, even making the level editor, and some betas of the game, how could they just abandon it?

Unless they (again) lost the source code due to the hard disk failure (as with PK1), I doubt they abandoned it forever.

Unless they (again) lost the source code due to the hard disk failure (as with PK1), I doubt they abandoned it forever. The physical/mechanical faults of a Hard Drive is why data can't be stored indefinitely forever. And life has a lot of twists and turns. Anyway, since this thread is abandoned, what happened to PK1?

From what I heard, it was supposed to be a commercial game. But only two things survived the HDD failure: the demo version, and the latest developer version (Pk encached). The second one was really helpful resource in the development of my JSPK.
Well, I would really like Antti (seven) to finish that game back then, because it could be really popular, even if the Quake 2 was already on the market. But then, maybe we wouldn't have PK2, and that would be horrible. The best days of my childhood would not be the same :,)
We might never see the PK3 again, but I'm really grateful for the time I spent messing with and playing PK2.
