Hey that's pretty neat game! And I mean GAME, not technology demo. Because to me, it looks more like a game, instead of just showing some goodies. I enjoyed it very much! I have to say I'm amazed by those awesome color effects and graphics. Very professional indeed. No, I've just love all those effects here and there (fogs, clouds, backgrounds, the lava part). I've played it two more times just to enjoy all of the eye candy visuals (and btw, to beat my hi score). I can only imagine how great visually Pekka Kana 3 will come. What can I say more about the graphics? I can't be more satisfied with this part, I mean they are perfect. Ah, almost forgot to mention that I've noticed two PK2 references in the caves . As for the gameplay, it's not that easy. Actually it took me much more than 15-20 minutes to beat it. Interesting movements like the kicking, but the keys are way too much sensitive. I mean I can hardly press the jump button and santa jumps at his high. It's hard to jump just a little. And because of that, I was thinking that there wasn't different levels of height jumping. Hopefully, this issue will be fixed in Pekka Kana 3. There were some glitches here and there, as well as bugs with the enemies, but overall, it's a great xmas gift! Happy new year from me! Hopefully I will see this game to more freeware sites.

Thanx for the great comment Iv4n. I definitely agree with you when it comes down to the gameplay. All those little problems will be fixed for pekka, trust me i will make sure of it. Also one thing i think would be awesome Iv4n, is to post what you think needs improvements, that way i can have a list of things and know what needs to work better.

Well here are some specific things that I think may improve the gameplay of this demo. - On platforms where you can jump from down to up, but not vise versa (usually they look like a background rock platforms), by pressing the down key and the jump key, you'll to be able to jump down. - By pressing the up key and the shooting key to be able to shoot snowballs a little higher. - By pressing the down key and the shooting key to be able to shoot snowballs a little lower. - Thankfully, the game didn't crash when I switched between applications. Though the music still was playing. Since this is not Pekka Kana, I can't comment much more on the things that need improvement. I would like to see how the physics will go, since this tech demo doesn't show much of them right now. Will it be able to gain speed, move boxes, slide on slopes etc? I like that when killing a snowman, the body doesn't disappears completely. But killing it on the edge of a platform, it stays a bit... funny. One think I would like to ask though is will be there any dynamic lights? Oh, and I also forget to mention the great music. Very well done! Well, maybe there were some other thigs to mention, but the new year is coming and, yeah, I don't want to miss it .

I can only imagine how great visually Pekka Kana 3 will come. What can I say more about the graphics? Heh I imagine: accelerator 3D (but view like 2D) We'll talk 'bout it on PK3 board, don't make offtopic ;D PS. I'm listening to: The Offspring - Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)

Here comes my comment on Elf Destruction: I enjoyed playing it a lot. Yet it took me a lot more time than 15-30 minutes because I had to restart quite often (I think it took me about 3 times that long. ) As Iv4n said before, the music is really excellent. I can't wait to hear more from Mikko Tarmia. It was a good idea to make him part of the team. The graphics are awesome - I'm really impressed! I'm keen on making my own tilesets and sprites and level. All the new features are great: The snow on small parts of the map, the light of the lanterns, the detailed tiles, the animations (eg. of the pile of snowballs you can collect), the background and foreground layer s, the clouds and the fog (again I agree with Iv4n - the glowing of the lava was spectacular), the seperate areas in the level and much more. But there were some smaller difficulties I had to face: At the beginning I had real trouble with the controls because I am so much used to the up arrow being the jump key. Some kind of freely selectable key configurations would have been nice because I like jump to be up, the main attack to be space etc. I think everyone has his preferences with the keys and I guess choosing them will be possible in PK3. It is very difficult for me to defeat the heads of the snowmen because they move so fast. Snowballs are too valuable to use them against the heads and one rarely find a good position to do that while kicking them often leads to losing one or even more lives. Therefore I would increase the range of the kick a little. Another problem with the kick is that it needs to "reload" for some time which makes it impossible to kill two snowman heads when they are close together because the second one reaches you before the kick can be used again. That's why I would propose to decrease the time between two kicks. I noticed some other minor mistakes but I'm unsure whether you want/need to know about it because Xfactor21 wrote: All those little problems will be fixed for pekka, trust me i will make sure of it. So here's my question: Do you still need a bug report from us? It might help you find some yet unnoticed mistakes. I have a new idea for the game as well. Making the snowball attack easier to control is a good idea but it might be useful to have another kind of attack: I noticed that the elf makes the screen shake when he hits the bottom of a special rock (or was it ice? I don't know that anymore...) with his head when he jumps. So my idea is that this damages sprites that are exactly above the elf. I think that might add some more fun to the game. What do you think? Conclusively I say: What a brilliant (Christmas) present. Thank you very much Piste Gamez Team!

1. Well, the game itself is quite good. I can see that the graphical effects aren't always the same in all points of appearance. Let's take a lantern, that can be found in a cave, for example. Sometimes the light from the lantern stays behind the player, and sometimes it illuminates the player. It is probably right the second way. 2. To the programmer: I think you didn't quite get my idea. When I wrote about moving at multiple speeds, I meant that the speed would not be a boolean value, but a short integer, where while going to left, the value would vary between 0...127 and while going to left, -1...-128. Because that's what analog sticks are for.
