OK everybody, I love this game, it fills in my spare time. I am 71 years old and have got as far as "The cave of The Bees" after about a YEAR, how on earth do you get off the sliding thing at the bottom of the last well? I keep finishing up in the fire.

When you fall, hold clicked jump button, then you fall slower. It works only with pekka.

Hi Billybus from Schiappa you've given me hope. I've just celebrated my 6th month in the Cave of the Bees and no chance of getting out of it!

There is no other way than just surviving. You have to survive and hit the Metal Hen 40 times. Then it dies. Mwahaha.
If I remember right, Janne said this in some topic.

Hi, guys. Long time, no posts from me, huh? OK, time to compensate for that. I'll tell you a VERY useful tip about playing PK2. billybus, schiappa, journeyman2:If you have problems completing any level (Rooster Island 1, Rooster Island 2, or fanmade/custom episodes), you can SIMPLY use the PK2 Level Editor to edit the level that you can't complete (for example: delete some enemies, put more items, etc) and thus make it BEATABLE. Just make sure to make backups (copies) of the levels you intend to edit BEFORE editing them and save them to some other folder/directory (this is because if you ever feel the urge to play the original level for some reason, you can simply overwrite (Copy & Paste & Confirm Overwriting) your edited version of the respective level(s)). You might also like to backup your edited levels if you need to. By editing the map(s) you can made them a bit easier to complete and thus almost all episodes become completely beatable/completeable. Only some fanmade/custom maps may cause problems because of their use of custom resources which may bug maps if handled inappropriately. However, most episodes should be easy to edit and won't give you problems. The original PK2 subsite is where you can download the Level Editor (beneath the DOWNLOADS section, the link called "Editor 0.91 Installer (600 KB)"). The Instructions Manual for the Level Editor (which obviously explains how to use it) can be found in the installation folder/directory of the Editor once it has been installed on your PC If you're working under Windows XP OS, this folder can be opened either by right-clicking on the icon of the Level Editor -> Properties -> Find target... or by going to C:\Program Files\Pekka Kana 2 Level Editor 0.9 beta\ where "C:\Program Files\" is the destination where you have probably installed the Editor as well as PK2 itself; substitute the path to the one you've chosen to install the editor in if you have selected a custom installation location during the installation process. The manual for the Level Editor is also available online here. You can use your browser to save that page to your PC for later offline usage if you like to (to do so in your browser, just do: File -> Save as... -> Webpage, Complete (so that the images are also included)). More detailed/advanced tips'n'tricks and other useful information about using the Level Editor can be found by browsing the various threads of this forum (the threads in the PK2 board, to be precise). Rajdh & TEO (The Evil One):Thanks for the specific information, guys, I always find your posts highly informative and for that I thank you. Only guys like you can remember such obscure facts regarding PK2 and memorize it and be able to tell it after so much time. Just make sure you write the PK2-related information that you have in a .txt file and make lots of backup copies of it (offline and online/hosted on a free file-hosting website). After all, sharing knowledge freely (and preserving it by making multiple offline or online backups) is what drives good progress for us all. P.S. I hope this helps. I'm sorry if this advice is probably something that most advanced PK2 lovers/map-makers already know, but I'm sure that it could be useful to more novice players. We shouldn't exclude newbies, they're also part of the Piste Gamez fan community. So, just try to be kind and helpful to new people. However, newbies should also behave properly to get a decent response. This just proves that being polite goes a long way. P.P.S. I'm also among the people who can't get past the level "Cave of the Bees" of Rooster Island 1. This is probably the only level that I couldn't complete without resorting to editing with the Level Editor. I perfected my PK2 skills while playing that hard level for hundreds of times and did everything there is to do before the final part of the level, but I always get Pekka dead at that point (i.e. get defeated). BTW, the final part of the level is where you fall down and end up on top of boxes of oranges that break and fall on top of bee hives, which in turn spawn bees that are just too many to kill even with the fast doodle/megaphone (also because that particular place of the level is very tight and thus hinders your escaping options).

That's, of course, the easiest way to beat any level. But using level editor is cheating IMO. If you change something in the level, you haven't really beaten because you had to cheat to do that. And then: Cave of the Bees is not that hard, actually. It's just a bit tricky. Because of the bees. And I've just some days ago beaten the Rooster Island 2 boss. It took few tries but after a moment it was beaten and I finished it all. If you have too much problems with completing any levels, just don't try to take every single bonus. Sometimes, when I get mad on some level, I just forget the bonuses and run through the level. That usually works. But in the boss battle you can't do that. You just have to cope with the robohens (which make the level hard, Metal hen is easy to beat). I think I could make a video walkthrough for Cave of Bees. PS. sahwar: If you type you don't get any benefits of shorting my name. Because it'd be shorter to type just "The Evil One".

That's true and I don't deny it. I think that everyone is aware of that fact, that's why I didn't mention it. ;D Cool, then we must be at comparable levels of PK2 mastery since I'm also quite good at PK2. Again, true, and I agree. Actually, that's how I usually play. That would be great. In fact, I'm preparing some video walkthroughs of PK2 levels and of Elf Destruction myself. True, but then again, you don't always strive for benefits when writing posts in a forum. Also, I included your full nickname in brackets only because I thought that newbies might get confused over who TEO stands for. Regular members and visitors of this forum already know this... it's because this thread is more of a tips'n'tricks-for-newbies, that's why I included the full details, I didn't do it just to waste text space.

If you have any problems with completing original levels, that means you aren`t good player. If you want to complete my maps, you need to be better player. Original levels are easy.

Yeah, all original maps are 105% possible, you just don't have enough skill to do this Also, I don't get your problems with the cave of the bees, the only hard part is the ending with a lot of bees.

Well, I quess people are able to infer. "Hmm. TEO. Who might that be? Well, there is one guy whose initials are T, E and O." And again, If you have any problems with completing original levels, that means you aren`t good player. If you want to complete my maps, you need to be better player. Original levels are easy. I have some problems with some levels if I try to collect every bonus. But not sure if that's not counted. I would consider myself as a good player. ;D
