Yes, I can see your work, it looks great! By the way, I installed the editor and everything looks OK but when I look for tiles, sprites, etc, I can´t see anything, only 3 tiles (fire tiles) and nothing else, and no sprites, no animals... What can I do?

By the way, I installed the editor and everything looks OK but when I look for tiles, sprites, etc, I can´t see anything, only 3 tiles (fire tiles) and nothing else, and no sprites, no animals... What can I do? What you need to do is... - Open the editor - Press F5 - Navigate to that directory where the game is installed (e.g. C:\Games\Pekka Kana 2) If you a not familiar with MS-DOS, the way the directories are displayed might seem a bit strange. But all you need to know that ".." takes you one directory upward. Clicking a directory will open in it and you'll see what's in it. Anyway, now the editor should know where the game is, so it can find tiles, sprites, music, background images etc. The editor also remembers where Pekka Kana 2 is installed the next time you'll start the editor, so you need to do this only once. Now, to load a different tile palette or to load more sprites to your map you can use that same window (that opens with F5). E.g. pressing the Sprite button will take you to the game's sprite -directory, and you will be able to load sprites by clicking them. Same thing with tiles. I hope this helps.

Btw I really want to know if anyone can see my screenshots! I upload them on one BG server and I wonder if they can be seen by foreigners. If you can't see them, then there is no point for me to upload levels on this server. Some days ago I couldn't reach the server, but now it works. But the server still seems to be quite slow (in fact, _very_ slow). btw, maybe i'll be contributing some levels at a later point of time, too. loads of respect and thanks for your work, esp. janne! i enjoyed playing pk2 a lot!

Probably you have to change your resolution to 1024x768.
I wonder... There is a limit of the amount of sprites that can be used in the level, right Janne?

hakin9 : I don't know. You are probably useing Windows XP. There are several known problems with this os. I'm with win98 and I don't have problems. Maybe the bugs will be fixed in the next release.
I found that there isn't a limit of sprites. Actually, from one point to the right in the map, the sprites are beign invisible in the game! This bug can be found in the right half part of the map. The start position is in the left part and there are no problems. Any idea what this is?

Well Iv4n, actually there is a limit of 600 sprites per map. You can see the the amount of sprites at the upper right corner of the screen when you use the editor. How many are there in your map? If I remember right, you had over 400 going on there. At least according to the screenshots. I have to admit, that I have never tested what happens if you put more than 600 sprites in a map... And sorry hakin9, I don't know why the program is not working with your computer. Maybe it's Windows XP, but not all people using XP have these problems. Perhaps it will help, when I add the possibility to adjust the resolution. But meanwhile you'll just have to live without the editor. It's a cruel world...

Well allright! Currently in this map, which you saw in my screenshots, there are 637 sprites ;D. The sprites in my other maps, thanxfully, are below 600 . It's obvious that I have to change my map plan (which was to make one really big level by using almost all available map space!) and to reduce the sprites. The level still will be big. The good thing is that I made some improvements, so now the screenshot are not very actuall . I'm trying to make at least half good levels as in the original game, instead of makeing big, but ugly ones. You may add some warning, when someone approach the amount of 600 sprites. Or you can increase this number. I hope to release my episode after my exams. This means If everything goes well, the release date should be somewhere in february.heh. release date... haehaehe fun. Anyway, I always want to say something like that ...

Janne and Iv4n: I use Windows 98. And just when I thought that at least there are no problems with Windows 98... Of course there is always a small chance that the package was damaged while downloading, but I think it's not very likely. One thing could be, that your graphics card doesn't support 1024x768 resolution with 8-bit colors. Maybe...

One Idea for editor - switching between layers is good, but can you modify editor - Right click delete block, left click insert block to foreground, middle click (or any key) insert block to background (you must switch not to background layer)

Gargaj: . I believe that there is no such thing. Whenever I want to test my level, I just change the start position to the part which I want to test. Hihi, I don't think you got my point, I wanted to ask whether there's a Test-function in the editor in general
