Duh, silly question I guess. It's not that I mind of course, but you mean you'd really be ok with people e.g. selling the game as it is, or somehow modified utilizing the source code, without any sort of licensing model? Or, in a less paranoid scenario, by "using it freely" could I release a modified version of the sources relicensed under GPL, so that people who use that version would be obliged to contribute back their changes? By the way in PK2.cpp PK_Alusta_Tilat() it's trying to load some language/fonts/ScandicBig?.txt files that don't exist, I guess this is some in development code? Worked just fine by commenting them out and restoring the pk2stuff.bmp fonts though. Well, when it is not allowed to sell the game itself, why would it be allowed to sell a modified version of the game? Also, why would you like to have a stepback with the fonts? They are loading from their own files so there can be other fonts than just Scandic, eg. Cyrillic.

Does it say somewhere that it's not allowed to make money of (derivative version of) the game? Didn't notice, but didn't look very hard though either. EDIT: Ok during installation it does say "Pekka Kana 2 is freeware. You may distribute it in any way you want, as long as you don't try to make any profit out of it." So at least the data files are "safe". Wow looks like I was still using 1.0 version without the fontfile support Good point, thx.

Yeah, actually I have it running on top of SDL. What kind of version are you working on? I was mostly interested in the license matter just because for example linux distribution package repositories (*winkwink*) can be a bit strict about those matters ftp-master.debian.org/REJECT-FAQ.html

Yep, noticed as much from first page, so maintenance mainly? I wonder if anyone's actually been thinking about adding weapons or something crazy like that. Actually I don't have windows environment to develop in and never really got in too deep with DX, so guess I wouldn't be much help but good luck to you all.

Well, new weapons can be added by creating new sprites for that etc. But we have been thinking of expanding some limits like the maximum number of sprites in a level.

I'm trying and trying and trying and (...) and no effect. I can't fix graphics bugs on PK2 the source code is very old and without rewriting game to new standards I can't fix this bugs. Sorry but I give up, but there is a good news I will be try to make Pekka kana 2 on mobile platforms so stay tuned

A pity. Maybe I can come up with something... sometime.
