English: Hey my friends of the sun! I only want to ask, when PK3 released? I'm waiting since over 4 years and I'm frustrated.... I hope, that somebody can answer my question +/- 1yr  Is it 2012? 2013? 2019? Thanks @ all Greetings  German/Deutsch: Hallo meine Freunde der Sonne! Ich wollte nur Fragen, wann PK 3 endlich herausgegeben wird... Ich warte seit 4 Jahren darauf und bin frustriert... Ich hoffe, irgendjemand kann meine Frage mit einer Genauigkeit von +/- 1 Jahr beantworten... Erscheint es 2012, 2013,2019? Danke an alle Grüße |

The releasing date is unknown. But as it is said in Piste Gamez' site, it will be released when it is ready. For now, it seems it can take very long time.  |

They work on it a few years for now and we've got no information yet... I bet they will release it somewhere between 2013 and 2020. That question has been asked many times. I don't really care about pk3 anymore, anyways.

well as Janne has said the Pekka kana 3 development is not under work right now. Some engine development is going on and some other side projects, but we cannot promise something that is on hold atm.

Pekka Kana 2 is one of my favourites among arcade games. I really can't stand the wait for version 3!
By the way, Janne, are there any plans for making the version for Linux? Currently PK2 runs smoothly via Wine, but the native version would be VERY appreciated!

i remember in 2008 when on the piste games webpage under pk3 it said coming in 2009... now it 2012 but i still enjoy pk2. so i think that pk2 has a few more years to live out because it shouldn't be updated till its had its full run  |

Some work is being done towards that goal, as this thread suggests (see the hyperlinks posted there) pistegamezproboards.com/index.cgi?board=PK2&action=display&thread=591.. As for when PK3 will be released - no one really knows. "When it's done, if it's done." is the answer for now. Still, with its custom map-making capabilities PK2 can virtually be played forever (not to mention the hundreds of episodes already made by fans), or until you get bored with it. I myself don't play it every day, but I do play it from time to time (5 times a month, etc., sometimes more than twice a week if I'm not too busy). So, whatever happens, PK2 is here to say in terms of its cult status among classic original 2D platformers and the very fact that these forums still get updates, which indicates that the fan community will probably last a lot of years, as long as Piste Gamez' websites and this forum are still online, which goes to say that everything is A-OK.  |

I hardly finished (?) my map of Pekka 2 -in work since 2004- I still have to upload it and i suppose many friends still working on their maps, so what's the hurry for 3? Did you finish every map on 2? I believe that you'll never do so as new ones keep coming ;-) ...

I think the main problem with the schedule is that Jerome and Janne has personal life! But well I feel we never see Pekka Kana 3.
