hello, I am Antti and I try to be active here sometimes.. like once in 6 months. I haven't ever finished pekka kana 2. I have been working with pekka kana webisode, but somehow I have abandoned the project because I realized that the code is total mess! So now I am working with nice html5 engine. Maybe I port pk webisode into it. Does that mean you have never finished the Rooster Islands? Also, a pity that the webisode will not be finished. And the HTML5 engine is good news. It is great news indeed.

Thx!! anyways I think the engine should be opensource as soon as I get something nice ready. The engine main focus is to aim for speed development. It tries to hide all the bad stuff with browsers and canvas+ audio elements etc and does it with correct JavaScript way. My whole idea would be to introduce rapid game development where one man can plan, implement, test and release game in one week and still go to work and have time for the kids etc. and the engine would support that. I was asked anyways to write a article/tutorials of my engine in suomipelit.com, but lets see when I have time and if that site is seeing the light of day again.

I live in the god-forsaken place called Bulgaria and I enjoy watching Japanese animation (anime). I'm also positively antisocial... That good enough for you?

hello there people! i might be, like, really really late to say stuff but i'm apparently just some guy who used to play pekka kana 2-when i was young, of course.. i remember back then i used to download a lot of episodes from the pk2 map store, and it was lots of fun. but the weirdest thing was that i found pekka kana 2 from a website that had to do with.. some weird name, like "downloadfreefullgames" or something, i.. don't remember, it's been a long time, lol.
unfortunately even if i have had to use certain methods to play pk2 today on windows 7, i would not prefer to do that as i would simply want to play pk2 straight out of the box. i might not be playing the game but it still has my interest, up to today-in fact, most of the "recent" games that this site has had made are interesting, quite.
so yeah, that is all about me for pekka kana 2.

Thanks for sharing your story with us! I myself found PK2 via a paper computer games magazine that came with 2 CDs full of free software in it. The magazine has long gone online-only due to diminishing profits from the paper edition, but I still keep those old CDs around near my desk.

In 2004, PK2 had just started and a friend recommended my elder sister PK2. We were all hooked on to the game, obviously. I was just 4 years old then, and months of experience and playing brought me to such an incredible level that I practically memorised all levels I played. Our PC didn't have Internet, and so it was my only favourite pastime. Then while searching on the Internet (once every month or so,) I somehow discovered The Map Store. Oh Wow! I never knew that people could even make maps! I was amazed and happy that I wouldn't at least be bored anymore! Some of the best mapmakers levels I've played were Kalan, Daniel, Doctor, and... IV4N!! His maps were so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!I could compare them to Janne's levels! I never played or made maps better than his! But in 2011, our PC crashed, and we had to buy a new one (Windows 7 x64), but the game didn't work there, and so.......... But somehow I came back to PK2. In 2013, December, I got Broadband Internet, and So I checked out Piste Gamez, (for PK3, for Pekka's sake, how long more will it take?), and I saw the this forum link. Well, after coming here, I was just browsing and..... I found RavMahov 's link about playing PK2 on modern PC's. Well, it worked for me. And now, I'm back on PK2. I still have lots of levels I tried to make, and RavMahov doesn't know how much he's helped me. Thanks falls far too short for it. And no playing of 2 years means all my hard experience has turned to rust, and it'll be another joyride as to how I can become an expert player again.
