Okay, I just finished this 5 minutes ago and d**n I enjoyed it so much! Though it's probably also thanks to some SDL remake's new features, I am amazed how this simple game can still get your jaw dropped 20 years since release when you give it to such creative (and little details pursuing I guess) minds like you are. During gameplay I often got the thought "Oh God, this is definetely my fav level" and then "Oh no, THIS is actually definetely my fav level" again and again. I most enjoyed the: - Leaky Sewers - great fitting tune, the shiny greenish watery theme of the tileset really makes a wonderfull sight (though I know... it's sewers ) and the shrinking spell is a nice reimagination of... well chicken potion, but this is a bit more stylish, with spellcasting also shrinked.
- Anomaly Factory - Loved the idea with anti/gravity spell as a new kind of puzzle throughout level, quite original enjoyable level, though the chosen bg music (probably as the only one in whole episode) didn't appeal to me at all.
- Agony Gardens - Just whoa. Beautiful to look at.
- Visceria - The button + moving skeleton sprite, another superb idea, immediatelly reminded me of Rayman Origins (thought there was no button, was it xD) as well the level Breeze.
- Mt. Zenith - Really good loking tileset, love the little carpets (which were in Haunted Manor too I think)
- ...
- ...Well I could go on and on you know, almost all level were super enjoyable and brought something new at the right spots. Levels felt just about right in size, not to long and overwhelming or unrewarding for a lot of dying, but not too short either, always somewhere in the best middle way, I actually might appreciate non-boss leves to be more diffictult, except for like one or two I didn't have to start any of them over, just really walked through them for the first try (but that's probably just me having played way tooo much of Rajdh/Kiolp's episodes hah, or was it the Rooster Island remix or something...). Unlike bosses, that are of course much more difficult and especially the last one took me like well probably about 50 tries (still better than Hollow Knight though where I easily did even 200 and then just gave up XD). But all of them very still very enjoyable and sooo well designed, especially the Artemis, really liked that one and it's music theme.
Also some really great tracks you got there, I loved the remixes of original songs, also the song Into the Pyramid... I can't help it but isn't some remix of "FACTORY2" track from Bungle in the Jungle episode? I just ... hear it in there.
That being said (even though I haven't finished CI2 yet) this sure might your best episode and definetely one of the best ones ever (if not the best, but I also haven't played them all yet) really the attention to detail, original ideas and their working enjoyable implementation, really professionaly looking new graphic assets and their animations (you really put all the rotating things to perfection) and level design that (besides all the new extras) really resembles Janne's (original game) level design. 10/10. Would play again and will after some time for sure.
BUT you sure be glad to hear I also encountered few posibbly bugs. In the boss figts especially. With the Rooted Demon, there is often when he is located on the right side of arena some weird wide dark rectangle appearing a flickering for a while and then it's gone, couldn't figure out why is it happening, it's not like triggered by demon's attack, but I am sure he is always located on the right side of arena when it happens and when it does, you can't see anything under the rectangle for a while, including the player or boss, so once I ended up dead thanks to it. Also I must admit, I finished the final boss Artemis only thanks to another one - in her last stage, when she bounces across the room and shoots projectiles in every direction, this one time she just bounced and didn't shoot anything. And there might be one or two more, but I can't recall just now, maybe I should have written it down.

It's possible that some of the songs I used were used in other episodes already. All the music used are either: -Free to use songs from modarchive -Songs by Janne / remixes -Original songs by Makyuni
Makyuni made the Artemis' theme, He did a really good job with this one.
I'm aware of some bugs present in the boss fights, some of them (like the boss just not shooting anything) are impossible for me to fix, they are results of how PK2 engine handles attacks and cooldowns. I have no clue what the dark rectangle is, I will try to recreate that but it's the first time I hear about this bug.
