youtu.be/ByZWwfaED3Q?t=312It happens at 5:12 Yeah um. Can somebody tell me what in the world happened there? I was just casually speedruning rooster island 2. And then that happened. I though i was doomed, i only had 1 energy and there was a golden pig and 2 big bees around me. I just ducked and waited for my doom when suddenly.. yeah.. what

Something with hitboxes? I don't know. That's never happened to me either!

One is the hitbox for recieving damage, which is almost as same as size of the sprite. But the hitbox for bee giving you contact damage is very small, a small square centered about the sprite. You were a few y-pixels away from being hit. I wouldn't consider this broken: on the contrary, it's quite realistic. The bee sting is small compared to the entire body of the bee, so it makes sense that the contact damage hitbox would be small compared to the bee too. 2) The pig also started shooting fire as soon as it saw you, and obviously the fire doodle sprite travels about that much distance as you were away from it before it dies, so you were also pixels away from being burned by the fire. Veeerry rare to happen on its own, but I think it's reproducible. Will require a fair amount of tries (wish savestates existed in this game) to produce this same effect

Will require a fair amount of tries (wish savestates existed in this game) to produce this same effect This explain really well what happened here, but I just wanted to point out that the hitbox thing applies to every sprite in the game, not just bees. Hitbox is the same size for every sprite in the game, while hurtbox depends on the size of the sprite. I discovered that when I was trying to make enemies fight eachother and I found that small enemies are always better at killing than bigger ones due to their small hurtbox, while the hitbox is the same size. Note: Hurtbox = Collision area where a sprite can be hurt. Hitbox = Collision area where a sprite can hurt other sprites.
