DONT MAKE IT COMMERZIAL !
"There are so many crappy games made by fens over the internet that are very well selled."
What crappy games ? Examples ?
" "
Whadda heck does that mean?
But yup. DON'T MAKE PK2 A COMMERCIAL GAME!!! Actually, I don't understand why you need new features after another. Let Janne make this game in peace and in no real hurry. Think, if you were in same position as Janne, would it be nice or not?! And old, good hint: Be happy!
I see no point in complaining about something that hasn't happened yet, and will not (by everything I've seen) happen at least soon and probaply never.
And what did that
" "
mean?
"Why are everyone complaining about PK2 becoming commercial?"
Well, maybe we are just saying to eachother of us that "We really hope that it's not going to happen." Maybe, maybe not. Does it really matter to things if we are just screaming about it. Nope, I think. But oh well, DON'T MAKE PK2 A COMMERCIAL GAME!!!
Actually I think it's about human's sociality. One guy says something, and then all others are saying the same without even knowing nothing about the whole thing.
Wouldn't I be a good professor? ;D
Ahh ! I can´t understand Janne. He could get rich with Pekka Kana 2.
"Ahh ! I can´t understand Janne. He could get rich with"
And same time loose 80% of players. PK2 is great game, but not so great that many people would pay for possibilty to play the game. PK2 is freeware and stays freeware. ;D
So, you want examples? Ok. Well, one game in my mind right now is PowBoll. It's just a simple paddle ball clone. It is like the other games of this kind. And there are tons of them as freeware in the free games portals. But this crap is selling for around 3-5 $.
There are a lots of crappy games maded by GJgames which are selling too (!!).
Some other games are: Demons Mantra 1-2 and Warblade. They both start as a freeware projects and ends as a sell products.
Another one game is Bud Redhead. I want to talk more about this game. It's a wonderful jump'n'run like Pekka Kana 2 and I recommend it to you to try it!! I have to admit it's really brilliant game and probably I found it as a one of the most exciting jump'n'runs I've ever played since Jazz Jackrabbit and Pekka Kana 2. But it has it's own insufficients. For example this game looks great only in the first few hours of gameplay and then gets annoying. This is where Pekka Kana defenetly wins, because Pekka Kana still doesn't get annoys me. And it has a level editor . Despite this things about Bud, now it's selling for around 20$. You can also notice this: from the beginning, it was a free project maded by two people. As the time goes, the game become payable and that's how the authors get their money to live their lives.
I'm not telling that all these games are very well selled. I'm not telling that PK2 is going to be selled very well too. But judging the quality work done so far for Pekka Kana 2 and the features that may come into the next version, I think there is high possibility to be a well selled game. And this game will worth it's money unlike many others.
Some people might say that the jump'n'run genre is dead. But I say that there are milions of people who still enjoyed, played and wanted more and more games of this kind.
P.S. All the games I presented have demos which you can find over the internet by using www.google.com .
free crap (real crap!) I find such crap-games funny.
But anyway. Free things are always best.
Free Game ; Free Forum (hope so) ; Free all !
You really like to talk about problems, where there are no problems at all. First of all, there are games around which dont deserve the name game and you have to pay for. On the other hand, I think here you have one of the most entertaining jump and run games - certainly the most entertaining FREE game.
By free game I do not mean games where you have free trail version for 60 minutes or 2 or 3 level out of 2 dozen levels or even worse - crap which stops in the middle of playing saying now you have to order the full version to continue.
Instead of being thankful and clapping your hands, that there is actually someone (Janne), who creates a game just for pleasure (?) - but anyway for no cost at all, you start to discuss what it would need to make it commercial. Are you lot mad?
Janne created Pekka Kana 2 and for what reason ever - he declared it as a FREE game. He improved the game, provided a Level editor and is actually working on a third version - thanks a lot to you, Janne. There is not much more to say about it.
Are you afraid, that you never can charge for a episode you created yourself? Yes, I know, there is a lot of work to go with it, since i tried to create an episode, too. But lets not forget - playing a game should be fun - and I do not know a place where it is written, that you only can have fun, if you have to pay for it?
Is there anyone who can name another absolutely FREE game, which offers that many features? And I do not mean clones of something or those crapy trial-versions. By the way, I only know of one similar - but less entertaining one, Happylanders. (Google it, if you have not heard about it).
So, if by all means, if Janne once will make a commercial version - it is only up to him and one would need to accept it, whatever it would bring - but in the meanwhile, I am really glad to have found Pekka Kana 2 and I can only look forward for an updated version and enjoy it as much, as I already do. And furthermore I really appreciate you lot making episodes and maps - but don't take it toooooo serious - it should be fun - creating and playing.
It would be nice, if this game would stay free - our world charges enough for everything else.

Well don't forget that this game is made by Janne and some other few people. You can't expect much from non-commercial game. I suggest the next version to be released as a commercial game (for example 15-20$), which can be sell via the internet. There are so many crappy games made by fens over the internet that are very well selled.

First of all, I have to say that all this selling stuff I was talking before and I'm goind to talk now is my opinion! I don't engage anyone with it. Janne could think in completly different way. I think we need make game cost something. Where will you find such impressive gameplay ? No action platformer gives such. But for now it's too small features to make so. So for now game will be free, and when it will become more comphresive we will pay money for it... I don't like that but it's kinda trueIv4n said:
