When I try to run PKANA.EXE an error info box appears. It says: C:\PROGRA~1\PEKKAK~2\PKANA.EXE C:\DOCUME~1\Omistaja\LOCALS-1\Temp\. Alustukseen tarvittavaa väliaikaistiedostoa ei voitu luoda tai siihen ei voitu kirjoittaa. Varmista että kansiopolku on olemassa ja levyllä on tilaa. (sorry, this is finnish, because I don't know what this is in english) The path excists, and there is 90 GB space in the drive. My computer uses Windows XP SP2. What's the problem?

The plot thickens: I have managed to run without error box. But it still won't run.

Pekka Kana 1 runs only on MS-DOS-operating system. Earlier versions of Windows had MS-DOS -support, but XP doesn't have it anymore. You need to start your computer without Windows to run the game, if you have XP.

I don't know about Suomi Land, but in Russia there a lot of illegal CD's that containing boot shell — DOS with some drivers. Go in Russia and purchase that CD — it's about 2.5 euros — 90 roubles.

If you try other dos games with DosBox, you might consider getting the D-Fend frontend for it. DosBox is slightly lacking in the user interface department.
Onward to your actual question then. I assume you have tried running it in Win 95 combatibility mode, and as you say DosBox doesn't work you're left with getting yourself DOS. Making a DOS boot disc shouldn't be too hard, the broblem arises from the fact that DOS cannot read or write the ntfs disc partitions Win XP uses. So you'll have to repartition your hard drive. Repartitioning your hard drive without obliterating all the data inside is kind of tricky and I cannot give you any pointers on that. I've done it once or twice, but I'm not completely sure of how I did it and wouldn't want to do it again.
In short: 1) Get DOS 2) Make DOS work 3) Run Pekka Kana in DOS 4) If problem persists, give up and go play PK2 instead.

A bit late, but have you downloaded Pentium patch from main site? Also, WinXP runs PK.
