Hello,
It's not that I have too much free time, but it occurred to me that I could convert original Pekka Kana levels to the PK2 (probably not fully, but the layout could be maintained). The problem is: original graphics (or more precisely, lack of the scaled version of it).
Original PK sprites/tiles were 20x20 px, while PK2 uses 32x32 px tiles. To maintain the original look and gameplay mechanics, I would need to have PK1 graphics scaled from 20px to 32px. The problem is, there is no program I know of that can resize the graphics without crappy look (nearest-neighbor) or graphic artifacts while maintaining palette and image boundaries (when you use something better, like Bilinear/Bicubic, the palette data is lost, and border pixels are blended with the background, and everything is broken).
If there is someone up to the task (of scaling them), I could share the original graphics, and even if the episode port is a failure, we'll have original Pekka for use in levels as an easter egg or something.
What do you think?

You could try zooming the picture then taking a screenshot and cutting it out

You could try zooming the picture then taking a screenshot and cutting it out That won't help Edit: My explanation of the problem is either inaccurate, or too hard. If PK1 uses 20px, and I need to enlarge it to match PK2 32px, I can't use 2x, because it's 40px. Using anything that isn't integer introduces unwanted artifacts, or just crappy looking image. If nobody comes up with solution, I'll try to post my failed attempt at rescaling, which you can load to Palette Helper to see just how broken it is.

Don't use 2x zoom there is programs to make 1-500% zoom, I'm sure one of those would zoom it to 32px. Can you give me a picture, I could try?
