Hello! I'd like to start a small map making competition. Rules:- You can use any tools you want! Use whatever editors you're most comfortable with!
- You only have to create one map.
- You have 3 days to complete/make the map.
- So your map has to end with a boss/climax. It doesn't just have to be a big enemy, though. It can, but you can also be creative! The player has to overcome a big obstacle at the end of the level.
- Custom content is allowed! You can create custom content before the competition starts.
- You also can use any other content you want.
- You can't start working on the map before the competition starts.
- Playtesting is allowed.
- Your map has to be of the following theme: Underground
When?:I'd suggest next weekend. From Friday the 5th to Sunday the 7th. (5th to 7th October, 2018)You can start working on the map at 12:00 AM on the 5th and have to be done and post your result into this thread on the 7th, at 8 PM your time.If you're finished earlier you can post it before.Judging:I would like to community to judge the finished maps! At the end of the competition I will create a poll, with all entries, and everyone can vote for the entry they like the most.What do you guys think?If you want to participate, just post a confirmation in this thread. Rules:- Your map can only contain 7 different sprites, although 1 has to be the player sprite and 1 has to be a boss sprite.
- You can't start working on the map before the competition starts.
First, too bad i can't work on the map before, i was making a nice challenge map that could go on the competition . Second, may i ask why the limit is only 7 different sprites? That is way too low. And i want to participate, althought i am not sure i will have time in 5, 6 and 7 august.

After some discussion I have removed the sprite limit. The only limit is now time. You have 3 days to complete a map. You are still allowed to use custom content and stuff.
The challenge is in october, not augst.

I think the rules should be published exactly the same time as the competition starts because then people cant cheat.
For example a map type, genre or something like that.

That's a very good point!
This is my first competition, so it's a learning experience, too. I already announced the rules. However, I'm going to add one more rule! This rule will be announced on october, the 4th at 8 PM CEST.

The theme for this very first competition is: Underground
The challenge starts as soon as it's 12:00 AM/0:00 your time. As soon as it is Friday you can start working on it. The deadline for submission is on Sunday the 7th, at 8:00 PM your time.
